Soft packaging, especially plastic soft packaging products, has always been favored in the European and American markets. Compared with other regions and countries, the soft packaging industry in Europe and America has also been in the forefront of the world. However, the development of flexible packaging in Europe and North America is not the same. Recently, a world-renowned consulting firm reported that the growth of the flexible packaging industry in North America accelerated, while Europe slowed down.

The report shows that in 2013, the global soft packaging industry had a market capitalization of US $76 billion. In North America and Europe, the market value of the flexible packaging industry in the two major regions is 20 billion 700 million US dollars and 16 billion 400 million US dollars, respectively, which account for nearly half of the total market capitalization.

At the same time, the researchers pointed out that Europe and the United States, the two largest market, the development of flexible packaging industry is the opposite. North America is growing faster, while Europe is slowing down. Data show that in 2013, the annual growth rate of European soft packaging market was only half that of North America.

Although the annual growth rate of soft packaging demand in Russia and Poland both exceeded 5% last year, the other developed countries in Europe were below 1.5%, which greatly reduced the demand growth rate of the whole European soft packaging market.

The company's chief market analyst said that economic, demographic, consumer preferences and living standards are the important reasons for the further expansion of the two European and American soft packaging markets. In addition, the gap is expected to widen in the next few years.
