Now in the soft packaging industry, the name of biodegradation can be said to be like a thunderbolt, but in fact, this seemingly profound thing is not difficult, even simple to understand the outsiders, but it is difficult to really operate.
The principles and types of biodegradation
Biodegradable plastic film refers to the plastic film that can be decomposed into water, carbon dioxide and low molecular compound under natural conditions. Its degradation principle is that plants are used for photosynthesis by decomposing polymer materials into carbon dioxide, water, honeycomb like porous materials and low molecular salts through various bacteria and enzymes, and will not pollute the environment. The degradation process is usually divided into 3 steps: first, the polymer is adhered by biological material; the two is the microorganism secretes enzymes on the surface of the polymer material, the enzyme acts on the polymer, and breaks the polymer into low molecular fragments through hydrolysis and oxidation, and the three is the microorganism absorbs or consumes the low molecular fragments.
In fact, some polymer materials are biodegradable in nature. The general biodegradable film is a kind of material which is formed by adding a certain proportion of biodegradable material to polyolefin plastic and then processed into film by blow molding process. In addition, color masterbatch can be added into the material to make color packaging film. Commonly used degradable masterbatch is composed of starch, crosslinking agent, assistant oxidant, chemical promoter, low molecular dispersant and high molecular resin.
In addition to the above two kinds of degradable plastic film, there are photo biodegradable double degradable plastic film, starch series degradable plastic film and so on.
